Group classes - Effective Dog Obedience Classes are a wonderful, affordable way to train your dog. Mandy Kennedy, owner of Unleashed Dog Training & Behavior Center, has taught successful group classes for over 17 years. Group classes are 5-6 weeks long, meeting once a week for an hour and are designed to teach you how to train your dog. Unleashed offers basic and advanced classes. Classes at Unleashed are very unique compared to other Group Classes. Unleashed believes it's important to create a positive learning experience for your dog by keeping our class size small.

Puppy Basics is the perfect start to a well-behaved dog. Puppy Basics focuses on proper socialization, realistic expectations, and the building blocks of achieving a good relationship with your dog. The basic, or beginning level, group class (Smart Starts) will cover obedience commands like sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, loose leash walking, jumping up, and coming when called. Our advanced class (Unleashed Advanced) is a prepatory class building on the foundation of obedience achieved in Smart Starts and Puppy Basics. Unleashed Advanced focuses on bigger distractions, longer stays, commands at a distance and the off leash come command. Group Classes at Unleashed creates a positive, well-managed environment for your family and your dog. In addition, group classes can provide an opportunity for much needed socialization and a "support group" for owners with new dogs. Private lessons - Every dog is different and each family's needs vary. Training the dog doesn't have to be a scheduling nightmare. Private training is tailored to meet the individual needs of you and your canine companion. Sessions can be conveniently scheduled to fit in with your busy life and we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you and your dog. You can purchase as many, or as few, lessons as you like and we can space them apart to fit with your busy schedule. Although private lessons are more expensive than group classes, most clients find they get quicker results with private lessons because each lesson is tailored to you and your dog's specific needs. Behavior Consultations - Many of your dogs know their basic commands and are proficient, or at least have a foundation, in obedience but need help with specific behavior issues.  These issues can range from housetraining, counter surfing, separation anxiety, fear behavior, leash frustration to other dogs and aggression.  Behavior consultations include an evaluation and analysis of the issue; as well as guidelines for a resolution. We discuss your goals and help to establish realistic expectations given your lifestyle and your dog's temperament.

Day Training - is a unique service that allows for your dog to have the one-on-one instruction from a professional trainer without you having to be present every step of the way. Whether you need help with the basics or more advanced obedience, day training is an intensive program individually designed to accomplish your dog training goals. Day training starts with an initial consultation with an Unleashed Professional Trainer. At this time, you and the trainer discuss your specific needs and together determine a time frame for achieving your goals. Here is one example of how it might work...

Fido is a young lab that has a good understanding of his basic commands, but doesn't implement them well when he is around distractions. With Day Training, Unleashed sets up a schedule with Fido's owner whereby the trainer takes Fido on a "training field trip" 3 times during the week. At the end of the week, the owner attends an outing with Fido and the trainer to learn what they've been working on and how the owner will follow through.

This is one example, of many, how Day Training might work for you. Day Training can address obedience issues as well as behavior modification issues. It's a unique option because it allows for a more intense and effective training experience than group classes, but is not as cost prohibitive as a Board & Train program might be.
